Boat drain led light

so been reading about diablo dual led light setup.
two lights with center drain plug.
who has one and is it worth it.

If you are looking for a single color light, consider Coastal Night Lights DS model. They are very bright and the company has great customer service.

The drain light is so easy to install and inexpensive compared to the other options.  I would try it and if it's not enough add the transom lights.

@zaverin1 I see you're in Lake St Claire. I had the liquid lite on my older Four Winns. You can barely see it in the water when its on at night. Do yourself a favor and save your money. Spend the money and get the transom mount.

JME097 was your water clear or dirty?  I could see my light bright as day at night. Look at the edge of the swim platform in this picture.

Keep in mind that the drain plug light is directly behind the outdrive. If the outdrive is down it will block the direction of light. I had one from Gogreen Marine on my 246. It worked well at the dock with the drive up.

.....as we have seen here with identical lights in different boating locations the water has a huge impact on the lighting effect. The twin Ocean LEDs that were on my former EC 360 shone out 25+ feet. In another area the same ones shone for about 4 feet? Before I spent a lot of money I'd check the light transmission quality where I normally boat!

My 280 had automotive ground effect lights mounted up under the swim platform, well out of the water.  They actually did a decent job.

My drive was down when that photo was taken. 

To be honest I've never thrown on the light travelling in the dark and looked. I avoid travelling in the dark.

Love the parade of lights. I just put the Lumitec Spectrums on my 280 this spring and I love them. If you're looking for a little ambient light then it'll do OK. But if you're looking for more, then I would say invest in the through hull lights. You can also do the trim tab mounted lights. I have yet to find pictures of those at night though
