Rinker 232 Captiva Cuddy VHF question

Hi Everyone,
I am a proud new owner of a 2004 232 Cuddy in the UK, I have a quick question as I have been unable to find any info on the web, I have fitted my VHF radio without any problems however the antennae is proving to be difficult, I just cant seem to find the right position, has anyone fitted one to the 232 ? Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks

Anywhere a bracket will fit on the fiberglass gunwale but if you don't want to drill, Shakespeare makes a nice stainless clamp that mounts the antenna to the bow rail.  Here's a photo from my old boat I used that on.

Mine is an 8' antenna. It used to be mounted level, until i added the Wakeboard tower, and I had to lower the mount it attaches to because of clearance issues.

Drilling a hole, in a perfectly good boat, is always a WEIRD feeling!  But something like an antenna, is pretty much always going to be needed, so I wouldn't hesitate to do a permanent mount like shown.

The 232 has surprisingly a TON of access in the side panels. I learned this while installing the Wakeboard tower on mine.  I really love the quality construction, and well thought out features like these!

Many thanks for all the great suggestions, I think I will go for the position nearest to the radio ! This now may be a spring job as I am putting her to bed for the winter tomorrow !

Just thought I would provide a quick update, aerial all installed, removing the speaker nearest to the throttle to mount the aerial and run cables made life very easy. Thanks for all your help, just cant wait to get her in the water now !
