is my toilet installed correctly

I have one of the manual factory toilets and frankly, don't like it. I have rebuilt it with new seals and the famous jake valve, but looking how it is installed, the line goes up before it goes down to the tank right there in the bathroom- I don't see any way the thing can possibly pump out that bad stuff without some of it coming back into the toilet, what am I missing?

Here are some reasons that it may be coming back in to the toilet: Bad Joker Valve, Holding Tank Air Vent is not letting air in to tank, full tank, clog in the line from toilet to tank. I had backup in to the bowl when I first got my 342. Was both a bad joker and a kink in the air vent line cutting off air to the tank. Fixed both, all good.

It just did not make sense to pump up hill without a large supply of fresh water and a limited space to store it. Will try that again! Thanks all as always. Will be at the marina and it works ok- I can tell from pump out it does vent and I have a horrible story of getting caught with a full tank- I do recall instance of stuff, paper, getting stuck for a bit...

rasbury Member Posts: 8,391 ✭✭✭✭✭Well, more issue than I thought.while heading into the marina, thought I'd pump out before I parked it, could not get anything out.had not had it out since July so figured I must have pumped? Then I notice my bilge came on.it never comes on. My tank is leaking. I know my vent is working, have never had it suck in while pumping so surprised it has somehow failed. Yuk.

I'd clean the bilge as clean as I could get it then pour or spray the HP from all directions and let it drain right out the bilge drain hole. Good luck, not a pleasant task.

I used a zip tie the last time I did a shift boot and it worked fine for years. Be sure to use a black zip tie because they are more UV protected. The white ones break down outside very quickly.
