What to do with the empty tv space?

Anyone done anything awesome with this space after removing the CRT tv ?


The one thing this boat doesn't have that I enjoyed on other boats is a drawer to store silverware...thinking maybe a few shelves or something could go in there... any ideas

Nice one, That is not that big you will still have room for a liqueur locker, girly magazines, oops I' meant boating magazines, flashlights, extra TP,  paper plates, blow up doll. ect.

First, the dumb question, where is your tv? I would like to do something with the one cabinet by the fridge- a roll out something or another where you would have silverware storage and other things rather than a hole to stuff things in....good idea if you dint need the space for the tv...

Yeah, it sure seems like the people who designed this thing had no clue.  My older 1987 boat had such better storage it's not funny... all we've got here is a huge hole to the left of the fridge, a hole to the right of the microwave and an even bigger hole to the left of the bathroom door.  I'd want shelves in every single one of them if I could get it done.  

The first thing I did was throw away that old tv (well donated it).. huge waste of space, I also go boating to get away from TV... and watch most things on a laptop/phone/tablet.. really have no need for tv on the boat..

innovation is the key! I'll wait and copy yours....I do like watching the TV for news as I can't stay away..usually just in the am with coffee....

I put a lazy susan bar in the old TV space.  It holds 7 bottles nicely.

I did this in my 342.  Angled shelf for bottle storage.  I used padded drawer liner between the stacked bottles.  Maybe not the prettiest thing in the world, but it made efficient use of the odd-shaped space.  

One time, a bottle got wedged against the inside of the sliding door where it coils up at the left, and I had a heck of a time getting the door open.  Then I used 1/4-inch plywood to build a box around the sliding door.  Never had a problem after that.

that's a good idea Stoge....they are tight spaces to get to stuff once in there...

I'm thinking I'll try and find some kind of shelves for the tv space... would be great to have at least 2 in there... maybe something that goes in kids lockers for shelves would work.  Then - going to definitely get that drop down silverware holder linked above.. the should solve the silverware problem!

I have the same issue in a 1998 330. All the areas are white. It seems that a roll type door should work, just the same as the roll type doors elsewhere in the boat. Do you have any idea where I can find one?

Yep, bought them for my 310 from woodworkers as LaRea mentioned.  I stained them myself and you'd have never known they didn't belong.

Great color match of the door to the woodwork, what color did you choose or stain with?
