Shift cable boot zip tie

Well, from a previous post it was determined that the clamp I had on my shift cable boot had come apart- it was missing when I bought the boat and put on a regular hose type clamp. So, it was advised that rather than put on the factory metal clamp, some sort of zip tie be used to replace that since it won't rust....the place where I store it said he would do it as a favor- went by to check this weekend and it had not been done and don't want to bug someone for a favor- is this something I can find, is it that special of a zip? West Marine have it or would Mercruiser sell it? I'm in the water after Christmas (rub it in, rub it in) and want to hopefully resolve my water intrusion issue....

But again I think that nothing beat the clamp for Mercruiser installed with the proper tool. I already send you the DIY tools to installed the proper clamps, easy to do and cheap.
Good luck
