2006 270 FV with Merc 496

What is involved in replacing the hot water heater? I was told it may be necessary to remove an exhaust manifold to gain clearance for removal, is that correct?
Also could an 11 gallon HWH be installed in place of the 6 gallon?

@Mercury2005, I cannot answer your question about removing the manifold. You will have to do some measuring. But I can say the 6 gallon is enough and recovers very quickly.

I would not think so...i have a 270 with a 350- would have no issue removing the hot water heater.
