Well, got my bearings all done but have a stupid unrelated question- the spindle and the bearing are a slip fit - what keeps the bearing from just spinning around the spindle? Issue- 2 years ago I pulled my calipers all apart and put new seals in them. On wheel 3 I see the dust seal is cracked in several places- does not look melted. Pulled caliper off to replace and I can't get the piston out. When I did wheel 4, noticed the same thing in the cover but dud not pull that one off yet...they are pretty new to be doing this?

Because they are a slight tapered shape

Figured...wonder why the seals came apart after only a couple of years?

Also, if the spindle is rusted where the rubber seat of the seal rides on, it will tear it up

@Handymans342 not on the spindle, on the caliper, the dust boot on the piston that have come apart...the one I'm working on looks like water got down in there and piston is now stuck, caliper obviously not working...

Rasbury, I have a 2 year old Harley that's manual is telling me I must change the super modern style brake fluid every 2 years because it breaks down and will eat the seals in the calipers.  I haven't decided yet whether I believe that.  My older vehicles never had such a requirement!  I guess there are some fluid and seal compatibility problems, or seals that just don't hold up.
