Air Horn compressor install location

Hello everyone,

I've always liked my horns, so for Christmas I scored a set of beautiful Kalenburg air horns for our 2009 340EC.

Compressor wasn't included so I'm likely going to source a Viair compressor and tank setup.  Question is where to mount it?  I have tons of room in the engine room but not sure how safe they are down there?

I have a hard top so the air line will be a decent run but not too bad.

Anyone else done this or have viewed what others have done?

Thanks for any guidance.

Gerry

I put in the Kalenburg K-380 last summer. Sweet set up. I used their compressor/tank.  I mounted both behind the captains seat on my 342. None of those small compressors are ignition protected. Keep that in mind for locating.

Definitely not safe for the engine room.  Anything that is not marine rated, is a ticking time bomb in that enclosed space. One spark is all it takes......
