1998 Captiva 232 Canvas

We purchased our boat last August and couldn't be happier with it. This year we are looking to get a new bimini with encloser made. We have the factory one currently but do not like that it is a convertible top that attaches it directly to the windshield making it impossible to drive with it up. We are looking to a taller bimini with connecting piece. What is the ballpark amount I should expect to pay for this type of top?  We got one over the phone quote but it was astronomical in my eyes. Would I be better off just buying a generic bimini installing it myself and only paying to have side curtains, front connector, and aft curtain made ?

When I had a '98 232cc, I got a taller bimini top from iboats.com. I got matching sunbrella fabric and I stored it in the engine compartment with the shorter top. I had a full factory camper top, so I didn't want to give that up.

Do you recall the width, height, and length of the bimini you had ?  Did the poles attach to the windshield or to the fiberglass outside of the windshield ?

The top attached to the existing mounts that were on the windshield. The rear straps attached to the existing loops and the front straps attached to the cleats. I never got a chance to add loops to the front before I sold the boat.

Do you mind me asking what height size you got for your bimini top?  Was it the 36"?  We have a 1995 Captiva 232 bowrider and the bimini top is missing.  We have the original mounts on the windshield and aren't sure what size bimini top we should be ordering.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

 The one that I got for my 98 232cc was the one that was 79-84" wide and 5 foot long and 30" high. It mounted to the factory windshield location. I got it in Sunbrella from iboats.com.
