Trim...since purchased, the up button has nor worked but the trailer position has ....down always gave me a rush at the ramp but it always started after a couple of pushes...during the day it works fine but I better start looking at this before a bigger issue..sounds like the switch in the handle?

Make sure the wires aren't pinched behind the throttle panel. Sometimes they were installed very tight and wore out over years of use.

I had similar issues with my trim controls.  Turned out to be corrosion in a plug/socket that the wire harness connected to.

so I start from the switch and work backwards...I'm so quick to assume the worst!

I did the same thing.  The thumb switch was not working as expected so I assumed it was that.
