I have a 29 foot 2004 Rinker Cruiser!
I use a carry-on generator for my boat, when I hook everything up it goes into reverse polarity, my generator is big enough to carry all loads but for some reason it goes into reverse polarity! when hook up same generator to a 30 foot Bayliner the generator works just fine! My Shore power works when I hook it straight up to that, just not the generator! My boat has the compartment and all switches if I wanted to put a generator on the boat but at the time I do not have the funds to purchase one so that's why I use a carry-on generator can anyone out there tell me what my problem is

You might try making your own short extension cord using male and female ends that you install, and swap the white and black wires on one end to see if this eliminates the problem.
This is assuming your talking a 120 volt system. Remember to use three wire ( green being ground ) and a heavy enough gauge wire for the amperage of your generator. This could be done for about $10-$20 dollars at a home improvement store.
