Liberty44140 Member Posts: 4,379 ✭✭✭✭✭If your boat stays in the water all summer you need a barrier coat before bottom paint. That means 3 coats of inter protect 2000e. 3 coats of hydrocoat is more than enough, I did a brand new bottom with 3 coats of interprotect and 2 coats of hydrocoat and was good for 5 full seasons. 2 coats of interprotect is probably ok but they recommend at least 3.07' Cruisers 390 (Previous Rinker's: 06' 342EC & 01' 310FV)

randy56 Member Posts: 4,083 ✭✭✭✭✭Thanks again for everyone's input. Yes, I have slip rented again this year. And Rates when't up GRRR. Last year every 3-4 weeks I would pull the boat home to clean the bottom, and wax the bottom, such a fun job on the creeper. Not looking forward to that again this year.Boat Name :

$2k for what size boat? If it's in the order of 28 to 30ft long, then yes, that is reasonable.
Are you looking for a barrier paint, or barrier with anti fouling? Makes a big difference. 4 coats of barrier + 2 coats of anti fouling on a 30 ft boat could cost more than $2k.
