Steering issue

I asked this question before but now I am maybe few weeks away from starting projects on the boat again.
so here it goes.
from day one I noticed that my steering was very tight.
pump resorvoir is full to the mark and with use it did loosen up some.
if I take the wheel and turn it star it let's go and starts spinning free like normal
then if I turn hard port it will get stiff again and act like it's almost sticking.
does this sound like a cable issue.
i am planning on disconnecting the cable from ram to see if issues remains.
besides that what else should I look at

zav,
At the top right of the forum there is a search. Type in power steering issues. You will find a lot of information about this subject. It could be cable, cable alignment, actuator, etc. I've had my own problems with power steering. Mine works like new now.
