you can use the slot in the picture and then be able to remove the toe stubber or you can just install the davit itself. Either way you will have to thru-bolt it.
Do you plan to leave the motor on the dinghy? If so look into Hurley's davit systems. The H30 seems to get the best reviews. I have the Trick davit system which works well but is not the easiest to load if you have a heavy RIB with a big motor on it. I usually have my wife help me pivot it up onto the platform unless i'm feeling strong that day. Its more awkward than anything because most of the weight is distributed on the back due to the motor.
@Taz Found these online. It shows a common Weaver install. Note the pads on the ding as well as the clips on the platform. The idea is to flip the ding up on its side and secure it at the top with stand-off rods that attach to the back of the boat and more pads on the ding so the ding stands upright.
I fitted myself glued the other section to the inflatable, covers came with boat I trimmed them out to fit around davids s steel nut and bolts through into platform void, difficult but glued nut to spanner then a short length of timber my other half tightened with socket ratchet, long s steel rods to keep tender in upright position. I have to say I like your covered ones better than mine... The ones on my boat have reached out and grabbed my toes more than once. They are however, very easy to hook up to your tender . For every upside, Im sure there is a drawback.
Hi, I have the depression in my platform as below picture but do not have the cover. My Weaver davits do not fit perfectly and I am wondering if I should simply grind 1\16 off of them or mount them flush to the platform. If I do mount them flush to the platform, where could I get the cover as below picture. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thx Tony
