I want to replace the worn switch rocker switch covers, how do they come of ? do I have to remove the complete switch or will they just pop off ?

The covers do pop off with a special tool, or some wiggling of the cover. The tool makes the removal very easy.

Super Easy.  There is a bunch of posts on this here with ideas for where to order new switches or in some cases just replace the cover.
