Flame arrestor help

so I removed my flame arrestors today to take home and clean, they need it so I'm glad I did. Piece of cake. Of course, the side tab that the hose connects to broke off when I dropped one loading the car. Yes of course it's the side I need, not the opposite. Looks like these things are around $150 for oem, is there a low cost aftermarket? I'm tempted to gorilla Glue it back on, what is the purpose of the hose? It's an empty hose, no electric. Maybe I can just get a longer hose to use he good tab? Check out pic above. Thx

    The hose usually just draws emissions back for pollution control, could be extended.

    Follow the hose. Goes to your valve cover. Glueing it back on would be fine. 

    Or add a longer length of tube. Cheap crap tube anyways.

    Well this worked out well. First, glad I blew these out with compressed air, we have tree cotton in our marina and a lot of crap came out. Glad they are clean. Second I was mistaken and the tab that broke off the flame arrestor was the useless one. I was all ready to take the hose out and find a longer one And it was fine. I had some epoxy out so i epoxied the old tab back on so it looks pretty now but it's all good. Thanks!

    So, I've read son of these you blow out, others you can wash out. How do you know?

    Not sure, @Black_Diamond told me to blow it out and doing that got it plenty clean. Maybe if you had spots from moisture or oil you'd want to clean with water but I just had pair and tree fuzz so it looks new after blowing out

    Friends or neighbors have one? Or the small 3 gal pancake compressor is usually on sale at harbor freight for around $40. I have their 6 gal pancake.

    I bought both my sons 6 gal.  pancake air compressor's for Christmas, and all attachments and hose. Got tired of them borrowing dads. LOL
