Oracle of Cape Coral

During my recent trip to South Florida I decided to reach out to the one and only @Handymans342 to drop by and introduce myself. I threw caution to the wind, made contact, and the invitation was accepted. My Admiral and I thought what have we gotten ourselves into(I read the posts!). Could be a crazy person....good thing there are no basements down there!. Made the 2.5 hour drive from Pompano to Cape Coral. We were greeted by Steve, given the tour of house and boat like we were old friends. Due to water conditions we were unable to go for a cruise on the canals, but had a very nice afternoon with some great conversation. A true Handyman and welcoming person that is always willing to help people. Sorry Handy if I didn't rip on you enough, but you're a good guy. I will leave that up to the others.....have at him boys!!!

Must be nice to wear short pants again, you have to admit he has one of the best set up's in the world. It was worth the trip just to see how the rich live. He's livin large. What kinda hat does he wear?

I have not met Handy in person but I did speak to him on the phone. Even though we go at each other pretty good on the forum its all in good fun. He seems to be a great guy. I was in West palm this past February but I was not able to hook up. I will next winter make it a point to visit him.

@raybo3 it's a nice drive over and it takes you an area of Florida you may not normally go. The drive over and the hospitality at the other end........very nice

Was the water too low to make it out off the lift?

@Dream_Inn ,yeah water was too low. Didn't think that could happen in the canals but not much more that a couple of feet that day.

Yeah I'm not very photogenic John and I have not worried about the water level because every weekend I have either been renovating my house or doing upgrades to the boat. This weekend was the start of the Auto pilot install. Can't wait to try that baby out. When in concert with my new Raymarine unit it can build a route and steer the boat to follow the route. Sweet.

halifax - glad you had a great trip, it's got to be great for you guy's up north to get some warm air. Yes I got handy the hat, I think he sleeps with it. Handy is going to have to get a shovel and dig out, so he can get off the lift. When the water is low.

Got a diver coming to hand dig under the beams. That's all I need on low tide
