Pulled the boat out of storage but....

Turns out in my recent move I misplaced my keys! I can't get into the cabin or start it. I have looked high and low; still don't have the slightest clue as to where I put the keys....such a drag. Hoped to take advantage of the nice weather and get a bunch of things done to her.

I never lock the cabin. IMO if someone wants to get into your cabin they will do a lot of damage to the door witch will be hard to fix or replace and they will get in. I keep my keys in the blender....... Just say'n..

Lol thanks ray. I usually keep them tucked away under the helm seat but for some god forsaken reason I took the keys from the boat before I shrink wrapped her in October. Ughhhhh

I think you can buy keys from Rinker. Just give them the hull number.

I have 5 sets of keys for my boat. One in the admirals car, one in my truck, one in my work truck and two sets in the "junk" drawer. There are a few places online that make the keys provided that you have the number. Also, a Rinker dealer should have a set of all of the cabin keys and ignition keys for the boat. Once you get the correct number, they or you can order the new keys. There are only 10 cabin keys and 10 ignition keys that they use. My mechanic has the set so if I am in a real pinch, he can get me into the boat.

I make sure that the marina where docked or stored has a set anyway in case there's a need. And we each have one cabin and one starter key on rings with car and house key plus a set stored safely on the boat and another spare home.

FYI the cabin key is some special type I learnt when I went to get a couple cut. Not a cheap cut, had to go to a locksmith.

If you have the cabin key number, here is a site to get them at in inexpensive price. I have used them before.

I think the number may be on the lock cylinder

Worst case, install new locks and ignition switches

See if you can borrow the set from Hideaway. They might want a deposit, but it could be worth a shot. Unfortunately the key code for the cabin is on the inside of the cabin.

Got the lock mechanicism off this morning and no numbers on the lock itself or on the inside of the door. The only numbers on the door is a sticker at the very bottom lol.  Calling Rinker once the customer service opens

The ignition switch is a 4 position Sierra key switch. Here is a list of all of their key codes.

I understand your frustration. Be sure to order some extra keys and stash them in "key" locations.
