Anodes Fresh Water

hello,
I just bought my 2007 fiesta 300 last summer. Does anyone know where the anodes should be placed? On trim tab or engine?  Fresh water only

That trim tab actuator looks broken and there is a zinc on that tab

When they are 50% gone. At least that's what I do

The anode on the trim tab looks like it's only 10% wasted.  If they are all like that, I wouldn't bother replacing them now.  As Handy said - replace at 50%.  

BTW the problem with the trim tab actuator is probably freeze damage.  The seals failed, allowing water in, which then froze.  Replace the actuator.  Easy job (must be done before launching).

I replace mine every spring. I am in fresh water and I use magnesium anodes.

X2 on Greg that I think every year is best but I have bravo 3 which is notorious for corrosion. Your vp drives may not be as prone to corrosion

I probably have 70% left. I don't believe in letting them go more than one season. Don't let them get like these...
