No power to the stereo

maybe someone could help. I have a 2006 270 with the original stereo. I removed the disc player to make room in the cabinet and now I get no power to the stereo. All I did was unplug the cable and remove the disc player what gives.

I'm really guessing here but maybe the stereo was grounded through the disc player and now you need to run a separate ground wire to it, now that the disc player is gone.  Check with a meter and see if you have +12 going to the radio and that it's chassis is grounded.
