Excellent! Thank you Jonny, I had narrowed it down to two but was not certain. Thanks again!
You got it! Glad to help. I have one sitting in my boat right now that needs to be put on.
It looks like this is a yearly job. They don't last too long. I converted my old Bayliner to a Jabsco Electric Head which is great until it decides to not work. I am keeping my Rinker manual for now to see how it goes. It's much easier to fix but not as easy to flush.
Joker valve by Jabsco is standard, you don't need the model. Just take it out, its in the fitting right behind the stem of the pump lever, where the black hose plugs into. You can see the 2 screws on either side of the stem in the picture. 5 minute job.
OK, this may be a dumb question, but why is this replaced? I never replaced one on my previous boat (8 years, but it was vacuflush) and not in the last 3 with my rinker. I seem to have problem keeping water in the bowl, it is a slow leak down the drain. I don't get any other backflush problems? I was toying with changing out the system to vacuflush or electric as the admiral hates the manual pump.
First off, joker valve is replaced because you get the backwash when it leaks (doesn't seal any more). As far as vacuflush, they have duckbills, which are bigger joker valves and there are 4 of them. Two in each line next to the vacu pump. They need replaced every now and then, but not often.
Hmm was gonna replace my jabsco with electric flush might just do it later in the season or next spring current jabsco stopped leaking fresh water lol
If you get the Jabsco electric flush kit, it's an easy change to do. Basically you will pull out your manual pump out stack, and replace it with the electric stack. This is a good idea, as it has a built in macerator, which will prevent blockages anywhere else. Also, make sure you bring 12V directly from the battery. The electric flush needs a lot of amps to run properly.
Jesus just replaced my jabsco head wow now I see why toilet looked newer but main base was cracked thru bolts with nuts underneath. problem is you can't get to underneath lol
so got them cut removed old head cleaned it all up some 4200 around the base tomorrow will run some screws into the glass instead of bolt and nut. bad design lol
