I continue to have issues with my depth gauge reading 2.2 ft then a more accurate 6.7 feet then flash back to 2.2 ft? Does this sound familiar to anyone? I have a Captiva 246 with less than 40 hours of operation.
If you have a weedy or soft bottom it can give false readings. Also check the transducer on the bottom of the boat to make sure the transducer is clean and does not have any sealer smeared on it.
I have issues with my gauge all the time. Most of the time it reads "un." I have no idea what that means and can't find it in the manual. Any suggestions Steve?!
First minor issue with the new boat....the depth gauge is not functioning. flashing 0.0 and then every once in awhile will jump to 199 ft and back to flashing 0.0. From what I read on the faria website this is consistent with not getting a signal from the transducer.....loose connection or bad transducer. With only 8.4 hours on the boat, I'll let the dealer figure it out.
My Faria depht gauge stop working in the middle of last season all the connections were ok. Could not figure why until I noticed that the transducer was right over a bunk on my trailer so putting a lot of pressure on it and bouncing a bit while transporting the boat. Replace the transducer and move the bunk away to clear it and it seems ok now.

And I found it, "units" but even after setting units, it still reads 00
