Shore power connection

The black threaded locking collar on my shore power is cracked. I can plug into boat but can't tighten it down. Can the collar be replaced?

Yes I just did it.  The cord is basically made of rubber and you can twist a new on with the help of a flat head screwdriver if you need it.

Yep, I just did the same thing with mine last week.  Takes a little bit of twisting, but it'll go on.

Can you use dish soap on it to help it get on/through?

Soaps a good idea buts it's really not a big chore.

I get replacing the locking ring on an otherwise good cord, but if anybody has a need to change out a cord, check out the new Marinco "EEL" line. Uses a one-handed clamping system that I've found to be easy to use, no danger of cross threading and so far has held really well.
