And for the record, the A/C drains directly into the bilge, which I'm not a big fan of so I'm rerouting it to the shower sump.

Why put wear and tear on the shower sump? Why not a thru-hull and let it drain directly out? That is how mine is and never a problem............ Just say'n

@raybo3 I think the 270 is below the water line. U have that classy 342 a.c. is up high in the bow this allows it to drain.

On the 280 the drain would be right at the waterline.

Ahh got it. Those shower sumps can be a PITA I just hate seeing someone use for something that does not need to be used for..........

Rather it go to shower than bilge. Don't care if it means a swap every few seasons

You'd think there'd be a way to add a venturi so it draws it out with the AC cooling water and no pump needed.

So you add a small venturi on the HVAC cooling water discharge hose, and plumb the other end into the condensate drain, and viola: when the HVAC pump is running you have condensate drainage.

sounds complicated...I will look at sending to my sump...but if that clogs/stops, then it is going to over flow somewhere...but guess that could happen in the drain pan as well...

That's why I'm going to route it to the shower sump pump.  It's new and I'll check it often.  Seems easiest.
