Where to stop? - Cruising the Detroit & St Clair Rivers

Calling on all of you eastern Michiganders ( @Stodge) for advice on a trip "up the river". We plan to leave Marblehead and stop either at Put in Bay or Pelee for a night and then head to the mouth of the Detroit. Final up river stop will be Port Huron and then back to Lake Erie. I've done this on sailboats with little to no stops. Here we plan to do 6-7 overnight stops. So where are the best places for a couple in their late 30's to stop in this long stretch and why? It will be just the admiral and I aboard. We are not going to get an I-68 but we are not opposed to stopping in Canada as long as there is an easy check in point. Our dock mates are doing this trip as a group at the end of July and we have not yet decided if we are going with them or on our own a separate week. Thanks!

When are you going? That'll determine what stop on st clair I'd suggest.

We have not picked the week yet but options are July 9 - 16, July 30 - Aug 5, and Aug 13 - 19. Most stops will be during the week, not weekend. If there is a best time to go I'm open to tailoring the trip to that. Thanks!

Kean's on the Detroit River is across from Belle Isle.  We've stayed there a couple time.  It's a nice marina.  Lots of places to eat have shuttles that will come get you there.

In LSC itself, Lake St. Clair Metro Park is a good stop.  No restaurants in close walking distance, but not bad by bike. There is also a shuttle provided by the City of Harrison Twp.

Agreed on City of St. Clair on the St. Clair River.  That has plenty of stuff in walking distance.

@Liberty44140   The wife and I are also doing this same trip this year however we are tailoring ours around the Raft Off in Muscamoot Bay.   We are planning a 7-8 day trip around August 12th which is the raft off.   We are also in our late 30's, if you are interested in the raft off party and some adult fun along the way we could travel tandem.

GPS coordinates for Muscamoot Bay are N 42.55783 and W -82.66071

Thanks gang. I will look in to Keanes & the St Clair parks and City. Wild I just googled that Muscamoot Bay raft up. I'll run it by the admiral, looks pretty cool! I've heard that the Gross Point Yacht Club and Detroit Yacht Club are worth stopping at IF we join a club and have reciprocity which I dont know that we will do. Any thoughts on those places?

It looks to be a good time.  I have been told between Jobbienooner and the raft up the raft up is much more fun.
