The compressor on my marine air unit was bad and being an original unit, wasn't worth fixing per the service guy from the dealership I got my boat through. So the dealer made good and put in this Webasto Unit. The 12k BTU

It took 7 hours to install as the lines were different sizes and the thru hull fitting barb was accidentally broke off and they try to tap the plastic....yada yada.

I don't know much about it but the reviews are ok. It is cheaper than the Marine Air so that probably lead their decision . The controler is smaller and doesn't look as nice as it has the ring from the previous controller. I am going to have to trim it out.

Anyone know of anything good, bad or ugly on the Webasto?

@Aprice, I'd rest easy. A former slip mate of mine had a Webasto FCF 12,000BTU unit.  It was very close to the price for a Marine Air unit. I think his unit cost around USD 1,600.00 + installation.  He did that a couple of years ago and really liked it. Somehow he managed to purchase a remote control for it which he found very handy.
