I have a 2000 FV 242 with a 5.7 TBI 260 hp, anyone know the beat cruising RPM? It seems happy around 3500, but cannot find any test information for this model.

a vacuum gauge, if installed, will tell you all kinds of things about load. finding a RPM that comfortably keeps you on step and that registers the highest vacuum signal you can get is going to be your sweet spot...
i imagine the VV devices key off of MAF/MAP signal, which is for all practical purposes vacuum, to project it's data to users.
