Oil pressure gauge

I have a 2002 FV342 6.2l BIII drives with the cluster gauges. We were out Saturday for a sunset cruise & as we were coming back in, the starboard oil gauge started to bounce all over the place. Shut off the engine & restarted, no alarms or beeps. At idle, read ok, as I went to plane out, started to do it again. Got back to the dock, oil level check out fine. I am assuming that a wire is started to come loose, where would I check. Is my assumtion correct?

Check at the oil sender and if the wire is good try switching gauges with the other one to see if you have a bad gauge. You can do the same with the sender also.
