Speaking of once prominent members has anyone heard from Mike (Tiki Hut)? We know that he sold his boat. Did I read correctly that he sold his farm and moved to a waterfront location?
Tony Walker passed away from cancer about 3 yrs ago. His wife Pat still has their place in Tera Ceia Florida. We bought Salt Shaker from her last year. We see her from time to time at the Bradenton Yacht club in Palmetto.
@caryg thank you for the update. Tony seemed like a great guy and very knowledgeable. He was a great contributor to this forum and the old RBO. Sorry to hear of his passing. R.I.P. Capt Tony

Thank you for the post @bry1429. Many of us have asked about Tony over the last few years. I miss the boating pictures he used to post, many of his family outings - beach picnics, trips to marina restaurants. A very kind man! Agree with @raybo3....R.I.P. Tony!
Very sad indeed. One positive, he got to do the Great Loop, and did it on a 342. I doubt that their have been many Rinkers that have done the loop. He inspired me to want to do the loop after I retire.

Tiki was my boat mentor when I was shopping for mine- seemed like a great guy but he just vanished!
Tiki Hut was a different guy (his name Mike and I will always remember his face). Tony screen name was TonyWalker and his boat was "Salt Shaker"............. Just say'n

Yes, @Raybo....Didn't "Tiki Hut" have a farm with a big shed he worked on the boat in and later sold the farm and bought waterfront? I thought "Tony" lived on the waterfront?
Yes, I remember Tony very well. When he and Pat were on the loop, my whole family met them in Annapolis and had dinner and drinks with them. Went back and enjoyed more cocktails on their boat. He really had that boat set up well. Even a ham radio on it.
What a great guy that will always be missed. Thank you for the update as I've had him in my mind at times when I see other loopers on the bay.

I'm not sure he sold the farm ... I haven't spoken to him in probably 2 years, but last I checked, he was still enjoying the farm ... so I'd be surprised if he sold it. They did buy a log cabin I believe, but I think that was more of a vacation place.

John, Here is the page where he was in your neck of the woods.

Thanks Greg for the jog down memory lane! I had never read any of his posts. I almost look young in that picture! I didn't realize that was ten years ago! Time does sure fly by!

One day Handy won't be on here either...heck, if I get the guts soon enough, I may not have time either because I'll be too busy being a liveaboarder!
