Marine Airr AC Freezing Up on a 270

A friend of mine has a 2004 270 and his AC unit keeps freezing up to where the fan stops working and you have to turn it off to warm up and start working again.  He added refrigerant to the system but it didn't seem to work.  Does anyone have any other ideas or know someone who services these systems close to the Pittsburgh Area?

You may have to change a setting called de-icing (or something similar).  What it will do is run the heat for a set amount of minutes each hour.  This will remove the ice on the front and allow the system from freezing up.

Did he check his air intake filter? An air filter full of crap is a main reason that marine air units ice up.
