Air Conditioning Reset Itself?

Was a hot 90F weekend here but A/C ran great at 70 all weekend except for sat evening I was doing dishes and the fan stopped. Looked at the panel and shore power was on, looked at the LCD screen to see all 8's like when you first turn the system on, then the LCD went to my last temp setting of 70. I shut down the system and breakers, then back on and it ran great the rest of the weekend. Looked like either it completely restarted itself (and in combing the internet I find no instances of that happening) or we had a quick power outage. We had power outages on our dock from Weds - Friday from a moron driving steaks in to the ground by his dock but they finished line repairs Fri morning and no one mentioned outages sat when I had this happen. So, has anyone ever had the system restart itself or is this likely a power blip? Never threw a breaker. Thx

    Most likely a power outage.

Could be the power outage, hope that doesn't happen again.

Looks like this was electrical issues at the dock. The marina is going to replace the breakers on the dock as they are tripping since our entire dock had an outage last week. they said that out of 800 docks 50 a year go bad which sounds like a high failure rate to me.

This same thing is happening to me.  Our a/c will occassionally totally turn its self off and sometimes come back on and other times totally trip the breaker.  If it doesn't come back on or trip break we can switch from shore power to genny power then back to shore and turn the air back on and it works fine.  Lately, if we try that both the house and ac breakers trip.  We think we need to replace the shore power ac curcuit breaker. We had to flip the breakers 5 times last night!  Does anyone have an electrical manual or know what that breaker is?  Can any one help?

The week after this post the marina replaced the breakers on our dock and I've had no further issues. Last summer the small air conditioning breaker (the one for the pump) flipped once but it was during a major storm that drove most people off of the dock to take cover so likely there was a surge or outage of some kind. You may want to try a different cord first, then look at replacing dock or panel breakers

Funny thing is the marina did just replace all our breakers and totally rewired the dock.  This issue started before that but has gradually gotten worse.  We really think it is the breaker on the boat- just trying to see if anyone knows what brand and part # that breaker would be before we tore apart the electrical panel.  Its been 100 degrees here and there isn't a mechanic around who will touch a boats electrical issues.  We may try a different cord though - that we haven't tried. Thanks for your help.

I believe @Black_Diamond posted here a pic of his blue seas breaker, if you search you may find it
