Need help with cabin entry latch repair. Someone tried to pry open cabin door while I had it in storage. They failed and left me with a new problem to fix. They must of been afraid of my watch spider and ran away. Any suggestions would be great.
I had the same problem from a very rough ride back from the lighthouse one year. The lock has a very flimsy piece of starboard material that wedges into the door. It can only take so much abuse before it breaks in half where the mounting screw goes through. I have made up several and change them out every year. I wish I could come up with a stronger material but then maybe it would break the door
The lock still does work with the key. Funny thing about it was the key was in the cup holder under towel next to the door. Not a very smart thief, but they always say that thieves are not the smartest people.
Liberty, if you look closely at the pic there is a black block that holds the lock into the door . It is at the end of the lock. The screw goes through the lock and the block to hold it all together. The block will have to be replaced or there will be nothing to hold the lock to the door
