Overheating Question before I call the Mechanic

Took my 320 across Tampa Bay ( 1 hour @ 29 knts) on Friday with no problems. Went out yesterday and the starboard engine temp alarm started but would stop when I dropped the RPMs to around 3000. Turned the Merc engine on and off a couple times in case some something was in the intake., didn't seem to make any difference. Any thoughts out there

Double check you drive and see if anything is blocking the intakes. Also your thermostat could be stuck closed.

Thanks - I'm going to pull it out of the water this afternoon and give a good once over. I'll post my findings.

Water pump / impeller.

Doesn't the temp usually drop at idle if it was an impeller?
