AC frozen, fan is not blowing.

Can't seem to win lately with this boat, but atleast I have a boat.  We noticed the fan was not really blowing and ac wasn't very cold.  I opened hatch and found lines frozen over.  Where do I start?  Never had troubles before.

Clean out air intake filter first

@Liberty44140. Where is it located, behind vent below front berth?   There is not one in there if so.

First one is above the floor in front of the v berth, metal grate that opens to reveal a filter that should be vacuumed a few times a summer. Then a second on the side of the unit.

I am not seeing a second filter on the side of the unit, it appears my fan intakes through the condenser coil fins.

May be that mine is different as I have a screen over the coils that the air hits first. It is something like this, circled th intake screen. Did you find the initial intake and filter by the floor?

Mine is the same,  no filter down low.  Fins are clean up top on unit, just frozen over.  We shut it down to thaw.   Never had this happen before.

Need more info. What is your set point temp? Do you have the program set for de-icing?

I have the same. That said, anyone know of a part number for a new one as mine has seen it's optimal operational days? Can't find it anywhere even though the manual says to clean it, nothing about a replacement.

Re icing, I get that too if I have the AC cranked down for a long time on low fan speed and have to let it defrost. Cools too well with low air flow over the coils and we have humidity up here. I'll have to check the deicing programming though in additional to other programmable changes I read in the manual when seeking out aforementioned filter.

The temp is always set on 70, we did have guest on board this weekend.  I guess it is possible someone changed the program.  I will reset and makesure it is on a de-ice cycle.

In Marblehead we have been keeping it at around 70 except last weekend, being 90 out I bumped it up to 72. Good call on looking at the de icing cycle, if there is no air restriction I would look at that next. Actually I may do a master PLC reset next and see if the program is just goofed and a reset to factory settings is in order. I think that a low charge could also cause this but that would mean you have a leak. If you need a good AC guy I know one. He is based in Rocky River but goes to Sandusky/Marblehead to do service so I'm sure he would come to downtown CLE. PM me if you want his info.

Rocky River is my back door.  If the reset does not work I will shoot you a pm.   Thanks
