Any ideas for upgrading the Clarion M455A CD/Radio,

would like CD/Radio/Bluetooth  and still be able to use all remote controls around the boat

I had Kenwood and upgraded to another Kenwood.  I found out the hard way that not all Kenwood stereos worked with the same remotes.  I got a nice model with HD radio, bluetooth, etc, and ended up selling it to get a model that would allow the remote to plug in.  You can usually download the manuals for the stereos on the market.  I recommend doing lots of research on the combination you want.

You can upgrade the Clarion radio with a Clarion Marine unit and new remotes using the same remote wiring via adapters. You will lose some function on the remotes since there is one less wire in the old remote wiring. You could add a bluetooth adapter to the AUX input of your current radio. I put this one on my 280 that has the same Clarion head unit.

I have the same stereo and turned it in to bluetooth simmilar to how Greg did it. you have RCA inputs in the back for AUX input. I bought these. Works great. We can have our iPhones in the cockpit by the blender and no connection issues. Less than $25.
