Correct Engine Manual Number?

WillhoundWillhound Member Posts: 4,183 ✭✭✭✭✭
 My engine series is 5.7L EFI GM 350 V-8 1999-2001 / 0L340000 THRU 0M299999

I see a couple of manuals posted in the RBO Archives. Is it volume 24, or 31 or other?

According to the title page and page 2 from volume 24.

    MerCruiser #24 GM V-8
    305 CID (5.0L) / 350 CID (5.7L) 90-861327--1

However the "models covered" block is empty. Finding the #31 it states:

So I am of little help really for yours.

If you plug your serial number into the Mercury Parts Finder site, then go to the service manual tab, it will tell you which one is correct.

Thanks @Cableguy Greg, I should have thought of that. Only thing is, when I search it, it comes up as obsolete and unavailable, and not even a cover shot or other info to say what edition number it is. Even tried some web searches on Mercury/Mercruiser part number 90-860171985
Anything that came up was useless. Maybe I'll try next serial number series up and see if it gives me anything.

If the part in the finder is blue, it has been superseded by a different number. If you click on the plus at the beginning of the line, it shows the current part number in black. What is your engine number?

Part numbers were all black. But give it a shot, maybe you'll have better luck.
    0L638731.
0 being a zero of course.

I am coming up with a parts manual 90-80950099. The other one is the owners manual. I take it you are looking for the service manual.

You are correct sir. My mistake. Trying to read the forum on my phone. Eyes aren't getting any younger apparently.
