Look who is coming to our Canada150 party.  Going to have to be on our best behavior haha.  Would love to get close to that bad boy from the water but think I stay on shore.

I'd put some fenders out and boat right up to it.  :)

The water around any U.S. Naval vessel is restricted. When I was serving we had fire hoses rigged to repel any unauthorized vessels, after the inicdent in Yemen with the U.S.S. Cole, they may use the 50 CAL instead!!

Yikes!   Yeah I'll check it out from shore. Halifax is a great port city welcoming navies from all over the world. I believe at one time the nuclear driven ships were banned but it appears they are ok now. Our ladies will be downtown in full force this weekend....fleet's in!

Mariners who violate a Naval Vessel Protection Zone will be perceived as a threat, and will face a quick, determined, and severe response. Violators are subject to arrest, prosecution, and, if convicted, imprisonment for up to six years and a fine of up to $250,000. (They mean business.)

I was motoring towards our navy yard about 10 years ago with the family to see the ships and was greeted by a zodiac with armed personal. He was good about it and I had no idea at the time there was such a zone. The admiral wasn't impressed and we haven't been back since. I now know the zone is marked on the charts and my plotter.  Have to respect them for the rolls they do for us. Lots of crazies out there.
