5.7 Merc engine mount lags bolts stripped out, what epoxy to use?

Finally back to work on my Rinker 260 FV. New motor dropped in last summer but haven't been able to do much since. Back at it and noticed one or two of the lag bolts for the front mounts wont tighten up. Believe it or not the ones I removed when I pulled the motor 4 years ago were only 3/8". My mechanic recommended using 1/2" lag bolts which I did but still not torqueing down all the way. Stringers are good and solid but where the bolt goes in at the wood is only an inch or so thick. It has dried out pretty good as no motor or mounts have been in there for 4 years. So I am hoping to use an epoxy to fill the void then install the lag bolts. Can somebody tell me what epoxy to use? My mechanic told me to use 3M 5200 but it says it stays flexible and don't think that would work. Thanks in advance for all your help!!!

Are you planning to fill the hole with epoxy and then drilling out for the proper lag bolt? Would you have room to drill a 3/4 hole, then epoxy in a 3/4 wood dowel?

Don't think I would have room for a 3/4" hole as the mounts are right on the edge of the stringer. But I will check it out. Thanks Much!!

The hole has to be clean or the epoxy won't stick

Yes I know it will be clean and dry. Just not sure what epoxy to use

Would MarineTex work? When it drys, it is very hard. It is an epoxy style product.

Use an epoxy that is made for wood. You could fill the hole with 4200 before you put in the bolt but I dont see that area getting wet.

Thanks Cableguy. I have used Marinex Tex a lot with great results but I just don't think I could get the void full since there is only a 1/2" hole.
