Anybody tried the SEI sterndrive trim pump for Bravo 3?

I need to replace a Bravo 3 outdrive trim pump.  An OEM Merc pump (865380A25) is $439, and an aftermarket SEI pump is only $300.  Is it worth the extra $139 to get the OEM pump?  Anybody have experience with the SEI pump?

Is it the pump or the motor? My port motor went and got a new one much cheaper than any full unit price.

I'm not sure whether it's the pump or the motor, but I want to replace both.  My original SS bracket is fine, so I just need the pump and motor.

I found the motor wasn't doing anything so tried that first and that's all it was. Easy swap.

It's a problem I've been chasing for a while.  The drive goes up and down just fine at low speed, but when the boat is on plane, it will not raise the outdrive.  I already tried rebuilding the pump and replacing the cylinders, so a pump replacement is next.

No chance that this is the solenoid, right?

I don't see how it could be.  At no-wake speeds, it works fine.  It just doesn't have enough power to raise the drive when it's pushing against the propeller thrust after I'm up on plane.

Maybe the motor is not taking the load? Although I'd think when trying to trim on plane that the force pushing back against the outdrive would be an aid, not add load. What about the rams? Any chance they are binding under the load when on plane? If you have someone pull back on the drive and trim it up does that work okay? Hard today unless out of the water though.
