Fourth of July Boat Photos

So lets see your best or favorite 4th of July boat photos!    We had a great time in the Cuyahoga River on my 342.  After all the troubles ive had, she has never broke down or left me stranded on the water or shore for that matter.   Here are 2 of my favorites that remind me of why boating is the lifestyle we choose.

It wasn't a great night for photos.  We were directly down-wind of the show, so most of it was obscured by smoke.  But I do love the Lincoln Memorial at night.

Boating-wise, it was the usual pandemonium with more idiots than water.  For some reason, the ratio of douchebags to non-douchebags always gets upside-down on July 4th.  But we had a great time!

Beautiful pic @LaRea . The 4th in Pittsburgh is the same. Kind of like New Years Eve when all of the amateurs are out driving. The boaters are out on the water and respect their surroundings and the people who own boats show up, drop anchor right next to you, straight down, then wonder why the boaters get upset with them when they drift into another boat. I love the fireworks, but I don't like the amateurs.

Friends of ours used to live in Green Haven (Pasadena) Md. We were visiting over the 4th one year and took their sail boat out under power on Stoney Creek. With all the fireworks being set off by residents all along the shore it reminded me of that scene in Apocalypse Now where the PT boat is approaching the bridge with all the rockets being fired. Fun evening!
