Have a 342 Rinker 12000lbs  .with a 600  simpson lawrence  windless .Would you recommend a Lewmar 700 with 150 '    1/4 chain  OR  a  lewmar 1000 with 150 '  5/16 chain  .One draws 35amps with a 50 amp  breaker the 100 0draws50 amps with 7 0 amp breaker,would i have to change all the witing on the boat

I am replacing mine next year but it won't be a lewmar. It still uses 1/4 chain of which I have 110 feet now. I plan to braid on another 100 feet of rope. Also the new model has a free fall option which I really like.

This is what I replaced my 600 with:

Lewmar PRO series 1000 Windlass with 516 gypsy

5/8" 8 plait rope and G4 5/16” ISO G4 chain

The 1000 was recommended as the 700 was considered on the border for mine. The upgrade that included free fall was worth doing.

Those of you that have replaced your windlass, what did you do with the your old ones? Did they still work? If so, how much would you want for it?
