Anyone have a good contact at Spectrum Color for gelcoat repair? I'm getting nowhere with CustSvc.
I am finding it difficult to get color samples from Spectrum Color. I would like to get their patch paste kit but can't get any help from them in supplying colors. I have an older Rinker (1982) that has no documentation at Rinker or Spectrum about what color they used for the gelcoat. I sent Spectrum a paint sample card from Lowes in the mail that closely approximates the blue gelcoat on the boat. I just wanted them to choose their closest patch paste kit and give me the name of the color. They are not willing to do this even though I told them it does not have to be an exact match. With over 900 colors on their website, Spectrum does not post any graphics to show what you may be getting. iboats shows some of the colors but most of the time they just list the color name and year of the boat. There are probably reasons they don't show the colors but computer graphics have come a long way since the days of disclaimers about color matching. I know Spectrum supplies a lot of gelcoat for Rinker and am surprised they are not more helpful. I feel the patch paste kit would be a better way to fix a few scratches than to try to mix my own thru some of the match n patch kits sold elsewhere.

List is now smaller. Then for each one hit select. The next page will show a pic of the gallon and a color swatch. Not all have it but most do. The other thing you can do is to go to kirbypaint and order a paint catalog at no cost. You can use that as leverage. I have to say i have actually been pretty lucky with both Rinker and Spectrum. I emailed the parts manager at Rinker and she came back with the codes she thought were on my rinker. She was off and got the dash wrong. I was able though to then figure it out from there. It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere!

@Handymans342 Thanks for the reply. I did a few google searches for Dupont gelcoat and they do not appear to deal directly with the public. Do you have a link for Dupont color matching?
