That is awesome! Which drone do you have? I have the phantom 3. I’ve always wanted to do this but have always been afraid of landing it in the water. Lol. I notice it has a “follow me” option but haven’t tried it. Do you have someone else control the drone while you’re driving the boat or how do you do it? I need to try it! Any tips? Which drone do you have?
Awesome videos! Just picked up a drone this spring so still learning, really have only been using it for pictures but I think its time to start playing around with the other features.
Nice raft up. Ever see a 1986 250 Sea Ray Sundancer down that way? It's white with blue trim and new dark blue canvas. We sold it in June to a couple from up near Harmar. When we had it it was named Naut Nutz. Not sure if they renamed it or not. Not sure what marina they are at but they did say it was a small one with only about 5 or 6 boats.
Thats a GREAT RAFT UP and a GREAT SHOT !! I too took some pics this weekend. Just to give you an idea of how far along the technology has come, this was taken with a Mavic 2, It was almost completely dark at this point of the evening. I was AMAZED how the drone captured the detail and true colors of the ambient lighting of the boats.
I have a Phantom 4 Pro, last year I did all manual flights and got some decent photos. This year though, I plan to explore more of the features like follow me to get some videos.
My nephew had his drone out while visiting. Think went completely crazy and uncontrollable. After saving it, I wonder if my radar being on confused it.
I don't think the underwater lights would be an issue. I do however have green lights in my blower vents and although I have never been stopped (I don't really boat much in the dark), I can see where it would be an issue .

Gotcha, I was just wondering. I have blue ones and have never been stopped but like you I don’t boat much at night. I honestly think it’s safer because you will be seen, where I boat it is very dark at night and if someone isn’t paying close attention they may not see you with just the nav lights.
Well that's one way to look at it. But the "other" lights can be a bit confusing when people are looking for nav lights. Keep in mind that the nav lights will show what direction you're going.
