Anchor snub question

This is my first summer with a boat that has a windlass. Loving the convenience and the anchor seems to hold well. I have learned that we should use a snubber when anchored rather than just cleating. By the way my windlass line is a bit too thick for the cleats but with some muscle I can make it work. I typically let out all the chain and some line when anchored. Is there such a thing as a snub line that attaches to an anchor line rather than to the chain?  That would take the pressure off the anchor and offer some stretch when the boat is swinging on the hook. If anyone knows where I can find one please let me know.

I can offer what I do - once the anchor grabs and is secure I tie off to the cleat in the well behind the windlass so there’s no stress on it. Doesn’t answer your question I know. Can youbchangebthencleatnto something bigger for the larger rode?

Changing the cleat is an option. I have read that a snub line with some stretch to it is an advantage to keeping the anchor holding.

Search "Prusik" knot along with a smaller diameter line to the cleat.

Yes, I use a prusik knot between my two forward cleats. It lowers the pull near the water surface (less angle) and in high wind conditions makes the tugging almost non existent.

Do you use a stretchy snub line with the prusic or just a short line?

Usually just a short line. Could add a snubber I suppose. I actually use the short tie down friction strap that I use as an anchor keeper when under way.

There is a cleat inside the locked, isn't there? So far I have hardly used my anchor..

I don't think my 280 EC has a cleat. Or else I'm missing a hidden door or something.

There is a cleat but the anchor line it too thick for it.  And I read that a snub with some stretch to it helps keep the anchor from losing its set.
