Towing Jet ski on water?

I have searched on line and I have only found like 1 or 2 real products when it comes to towing a ski or waver runner.  Does anyone have any tips or advice.  I have a GP1300 I would like to start towing to my hangout spot.  That way once I set anchor I can still get on the ski and go play.

Make sure you can tow it. Sometimes water finds it way into the exhaust and will ruin the engine. I put a 'tow valve' on my waverunner to prevent this. The valve goes between where the cooling water exits the pump to the engine. Towing most pwc's pressurizes the water in the pump chamber causing it to to enter the engine via exhaust. Thats great advice.  Considering I just put a new motor in it. I just asked my mechanic about it, waiting for a response.

Just don't do like the guy I saw last week. He was going at least 25mph with the jet ski in tow bouncing off the water like crazy 100' behind him.

I second this info.  You can easily fill an engine with water towing it.  I had to put an engine in a seadoo speedster because of this.

You can probably find more details on the pwctoday.com website. Pretty simple install and parts are less than $10.

@Carsnmorellc what set up did you go with?  Curious what others do as well.

@06Rinker270 I went ahead and put a quarter turn valve on the water line to block it off.  I cut a line that connects to both cleats on the back, the line goes through the front cleat of the jetski.  I have measured the line that way the ski is at the peak of the wake.  Pulls so easily and no water splashes into the ski.
