Engine hours

I drive a brown truck for a living my truck 3 years old 96000 miles and it's got 4850 hours three sets of tires and two sets of brakes this truck is probably only had about a third of its lifespan it's funny how boats get a 1000 hours and people think they got too many hours on them it's also weird when we have failure at 500 hours and 600 hours it's acceptable for things to be broke. I know we say boats are always like driving uphill but if you rode with me in this truck you would realize this truck probably takes more of a beating than my boat but then again I like my boat a lot more and I like this truck. I have also seen plenty of post where people have 2000 hours on their boat and it still runs strong. Thanks for reading break time's over got to go.

Problem is with a boat engine is it's at an average of 3000 to 3500 rpm for thousands of hours. Having said that there's a well known fishing captain on Michigan that is currently replacing an engine ... he pulled the plug on the old engine, it has 6560 hours on it! So, I think part of it is how well you treat and maintain your engine.
