Crazy! We were in a similar situation a year ago, not quite as bad of course, but it was bad enough that the hardtop was less than a foot of hitting the top if a piling at a wall. There were 3 of us, all inserting doubled up fenders every wave after they popped out. Finally got the first boat the nerve to move (when sunlight appeared, it was most of the night), then us other two were able to move. I had pictures in my mind I exactly this.
@skennelly, I did the same thing too and that was with an EC 360 with 8.2 Mags and B lll X drives that weighed almost 9 tons - yet I saw small cruisers going out with IMO too many people on board and kids on the bow rails. There seem to be a lot of people in the "stupid club".
I sit at the dock when small craft advisors are issued and yet I see boats leaving with people on the bow all the time. Doesn't seem to deter them
That's my point. With all the cell phones and electronics on boat that gives weather forecasts and warnings no body should get stuck in that kind of a mess. People just dont give a rat's a$$ and take too many chances.......... Just say'n.

This past week in Chicago they issued a swim ban...so what happens? Husband and wife decide to go for a dip in the evening. Wife made it alive...husband did not and I'm not sure they found him yet.
