The Admiral was doing some office work on the front seat last week and accidentally got ball point pen ink on the vinyl right in the middle of the back cushion. I tried some gentle cleaner but it didn't touch it. Any thoughts??

The ultimate stain remover that actually works on a seriously set in stain! Never buy oxy clean again! The mixture is 1 tsp. Dawn dishwashing detergent 3-4 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide couple tablespoons of baking soda. Scrub on with a scrubbing brush
I love Magic Eraser but I found that on my seats it takes the luster off and makes the seat look dull even after putting on protector. So I use Magic Eraser on every thing but the seats. BTW also works great on the hull before waxing.......

I'm with Boomer on the ink marks. As far as protectant/cleaner, I use303 Aerospace (buy a gallon that last a long time).
Wouldn't I want to use just the 303 Vinyl cleaner before protectant?
I've not used 303's cleaner, as the protectant usually cleans what I need cleaned. But that would probably be a good thing first. I agree with Raybo, I use the magic eraser sparingly.
Raybo, I'd watch using the eraser on the hull too much, cause there is some abrasive stuff in them.
Thanks everyone. As Ray had said, I also thought I'd heard that the magic eraser was a bit tough on vinyl. I have plenty of other options to try now. I used to treat our Hypalon dinghy with 303 and still have some in the shop for after I get the stain out.
Thanks again.
EDIT: the word "hard" was censored so I substituted tough

Still seeking therapy after putting together that Censored Words list...not sure I'm ready to do that to someone else. Learned a lot I wish I could unlearn.
LAMO Ray caught it.... I really hadn't seen it together until he mentioned the dynamic duo. )
So hard off is fine....omg. Steve must've had fits with that list. Therapy indeed
Sailors being censored to saint hood. Gotta love the new world. Don't get me wrong I love the new site. keep up the good work. I'm a new man with all this wholesome language.
Really just copied a list from another Forum that seemed fairly...um...comprehensive. Just to prevent the random troll from sullying up our nice clean chats with an expletive-filled rant. I hope. Surely it's funnier to see Tiki & Raybo trying to decipher what they THINK was being said!
I lie the fact that its in place because every once in a while on the old site we would get words and porn sites. Boomer (and others) broke thier stones (lol) keeping it clean

All great ideas. I too use Magic Erasers (carefully) and own stock in Aerospace 303!!
