Can anyone tell me the model number for the port AFI wiper motor on an 05 342?  I have metered the wires and get power to the motor but it does not turn. I can tell the manufacturer, AFI, but see no model number.  When I look online there are multiple models of this motor available for sweep and length.

That motor may be worth repairing.

Handy, any addition thoughts on that idea?  I pulled the gear cover and everything looks good inside with no wires disconnected.  I have power to both power wires and the ground is good.  When I try the motor there is no clicking or binding noises and I can not move the wiper arm.

Can the motor be separated from the gear box? Also, what is that cut wire in the picture?

Handy, The motor can't be separated but you did encourage me to look a bit further.  The 3 position switch powers 1 or both power wires when switched.  I did a bit of digging and found the install instructions.   Wire 1 is park, 2 is low speed and 3 is high speed. Wire 3 is the one that is cut.  This may just be a wiring issue where park and low speed are both powered at the same time.  I will look more into the wiring when I am back at the boat.

This is my first season with the boat and the previous owner did some strange things.  One of them was wiring the all-around light to the 6 volt stereo remote.   Any time the stereo was turned on the all-around light was on dim.   Took me a day to figure that out and disconnect the wire.  I wouldn't put it past him to have screwed up other wiring. Thanks for inspiring me to look further

As I have said before, every boat owner should check every system for proper operation and know where every system is located on their boat. Having this knowledge is critical to maintaining the boat properly and in the event of an emergency you will know what to look for.

I had the same problem you have. I took the cover off and the brushes were sticking cleaned them and works great..
