New cockpit table

diggin2day1diggin2day1 Member Posts: 1,331 ✭✭✭✭
Made myself a new cockpit table last night. Made it out of 1.5" thick cherry. It took over 5 hours of machining and tons of sanding!! Carved out the center logo and poured some 2-part epoxy in there to cure and level out the carving(so food/drink don't get caught). Going to sand it down and seal/finish... bought a nice new table mounts too!!

Looks GREAT! To add to your line of products you can cut the older Rinker logo fonts also.

Me too @Dream_Inn... I think that the clear epoxy poured into the carvings is going to mess with my head.... lol. Letting it cure another day before I get after with some sandpaper!

I think you should melt some gold bars to fill in the logo, then cover the whole thing with polyurethane:wink:

I wonder what the epoxy infill would look like with bronze powder mixed in with it?

What do you think of the size?... if you had to do it over, would you go bigger? Smaller?

This is a size.If was wider it is hard to scoot by when sitting or by the other side to get to the pump out. If it was longer it would be it the walk path as it is now I hit my hip on the corner. If the table was bigger I think you would be taking it down because it's your way, instead of leaving up.

I agree... there's a fine line with having a perfect table size!!

I already have your steps for my 330. Love them. What will you charge for the table?

I have one that converts from a nice eating table to a nice drink size table: Maybe Diggin can do one of these:

I also have one of these in my salon:

I definitely think Diggin could come up with the right hinges and they'd be nicer than what I've bought!

Looks awesome. My want list is outgrowing my budget. I'd like a table in my cabin first. I may have to bounce some dimensions off you soon.
